Sapporo area Hike/snowshoe overnight hut hike
Please scroll down to bottom of this page for full details " The Secret of Hokkaido " is a wonderful rustic but very cossy hut hidden away up here in the Sapporo area. This diamond in the rough is an amazing place with an amazing feeling and tons of character. I wouldn't say this hut is Japanese but I would say this hut is very Hokkaido with a care-taker living up there all year round. This hut has everything you need, so all we need to take up there is food and whatever you want to drink. For dinner we will cook up some fresh local produce that we will get in the morning at a local market. It's a 4or so hour hike to the this great hut with another hour hike to the small peak where you can get some great sunset. At this time of year we will be taking snowshoes . Snowshoeing all depends if it snow's, usually we get the first snows in Nov but when it snow's in Nov changes year by year. Sometime it is at the begining and sometimes at the end of the month, it can be alot of snow and sometimes very little . We just don't know. But ! things can change over night very fast in Hokkaido in Nov.
